CPE Topic – Application Security – Common Flaws and Mitigation Measures

 Venue – ISACA Bangalore Chapter

Date – 9th March, 2013

Time - 6PM - 8PM

All are welcome - No Entrance Fees - 2 CPE credit

With the emergence of new web technologies that are coming up essentially with an aim to provide end users with rich browsing experience on the web, application security threats are also on a rise primarily due to lack of application security awareness. That’s the very reason why this session primarily aims at building an understanding of common coding flaws, key security fundamentals and mitigation measures to counteract OWASP (Open Web Application Security Project) top 10 risks.

The agenda for the session briefly touches upon the rationale behind why application security is extremely important and deserves our focus today. The session also highlights the importance of building security in the Software Development Life Cycle as a strategy opposed to looking at security as an add-on towards the end of SDLC (typically during the testing stage-gate).

Speaker:

Jay Hira, CISSP, CISA, PRINCE2, CEH, CHFI, ISO 27001 LA is a competent Information Security professional with over 7 years of experience of successfully delivering audit, advisory and assurance projects to global clients across industry sectors.
